2019 Thai League Week 10: Muangthong United Lose Again

Muangthong United have slumped slumped to their seventh loss of the season at home to Samut Prakan City FC. The Kirins were completely outplayed and embarrassingly lost 3-0 to Samut Prakan.

The first half proved to be fairly even between the two teams with Muangthong United have the best chance to score. Muangthong youngster Korrawit Tasa, who was the biggest attacking threat throughout caused trouble to the Samut Prakan when he he received the ball on the left hand side. The youngster managed to beat one man as he drove into the box. As he was being closed down by Sarawut Kanlayanabandit, he managed to poke the ball to Herbery who was all alone in the box. As keeper Patiwat Khammai was scrambling to close down angle Herbery only managed to shoot straight at the keeper.

Muangthong United managed to put all the ball in the back of the net in the second half. Korrawit Tasa was once again causing trouble in the Samut Prakan box. As Korrawit shot his effort came crashing off the post straight to Herbery who converted. However the Brazilian had been standing in an offside position and the effort did not count.

Jaroensak Wonggorn soon took the game into his own hands for Samut Prakan FC. The Thai under 23 international started a nice one-two move to get himself past Weerawut Kayem on the right hand side and crossed a dangerous ball into the box. Brazilian Carlão jumped highest to head home the lead for Samut Prakan.

Jaroensak Wonggorn was at it again shortly after, getting himself on the wrong side of Krailas Panyaroj. With only the keeper to beat the youngster remained calm and cooly slotted past the keeper and putting his side 2-0.

The game was soon put to bed when Samut Prakan City scored their third. Weerawut Kayem lost the ball with a poor pass and Samut Prakan City were quick to hit Muangthong United on the counter attack. A quick and direct move was finished off by Teeraphol Yoryoei.

The result leaves Muangthong United fixed at the bottom of the league with relegation a real threat this season. During the game their big named players such as Heberty, Charyl Chappuis and Sarach Yooyen appeared to have downed tools and are going missing in games. The only ray of light is youngster Korrawit Tasa whose performances have been impressive given the circumstances.

Samut Prakan City FC on the other hand appears to be the surprise package of the season. Jaroensak Wonggorn really took charge of the game and may be drawing admirers from the of the leagues bigger clubs.
