A Muangthong United side that is currently seeing a mid-season rejuvenation hosted a Suphanburi FC side needing some good form as they sit bottom of the league. Suphanburi FC have not won any of their last four games while Muangthong United have only lost once in their last eleven.
Muangthong United made their presence felt early on by taking the lead in the fourth minute. Heberty ran in from the right hand side before playing the ball to Sanukran Thinjom who was open and only had the keeper to beat. Sanukran then cut in past the keeper allowing Daisuke Sato to tap into an empty goal.
Heberty was running the show in this game and turned provider once again in the 34th minute as he crossed the ball with the outside of his foot to an unmarked Derley who buried his header and doubled the lead for Muangthong.
In the second half Muangthong United continued to exert their dominance and came very close to scoring another goal in the 53rd minute. A Hebery through ball put Sanukran Thinjom through on goal. As he drew nearer the goal he fired a shot crashing off the crossbar.
It was at this point that Suphanburi FC decided to show up and soon created their best chance of the game so far. Brazilian striker Dellatorre played the ball into Cleiton Silva who laid it off to Chutipol Thongthae whose shot was headed off the line by Saringkan Promsupa.
However this was a sine of things to come as the proceeding corner saw Suphanburi FC get their goal. The corner was played in which was won by Miki Siroshtein, who headed it into the path of Cleiton Silva. The Brazilian then cheekily back-heeled it over the defender on the line.
This Suphanburi run did not last long as in the 75th minute, Muangthong scored a third and all but put the game to bed. Brazilian duo Derley and Bruno Gallo combined nicely with a one-two which allowed Derley into the box where he clinically finished in the bottom corner.
In the dying minutes of the game Muangthong United score a fourth and put the icing on the scoreline. Bruno Gallo was played down the right with time and space. He saw the run of Aung Thu and crossed the ball to the Myanmar international. Keeper Patrick Deyto was able to intercept, however the ball found its way to midfielder Sarach Yooyen on the edge of the box who burried hs effort into the goal.
It is not looking good for Suphanburi FC who continue to sit at the bottom of the Thai League. The club seem to be struggling big time for goals with both Brazilian striking duo Cleiton Silva and Dellatorre while one time prolific striker Jonatan Reis has been sent away on loan.
On the other hand, Muangthong United’s resurgence sees them only ten places off the AFC Champions League spot, which would have been unthinkable a few months back.
