Buriram United have announced the signing of South Korean midfielder Jung Jae-yong from Korean side Pohang Steelers. The 29 year old spent the season there after joining from Ulsan Hyundai FC.
With Pohang Steelers Jung Jae-yong was deployed further back and had more defensive responsibilities than during his time with Ulsan Hyundai. Buriram United will look to take advantage of these defensive instincts as they look to sure up the midfield and filled the void that was created with the departure of Hajime Hosogai.
The signing of Jung Jae-yong caps off a very successful transfer window for Buriram United as they have filled their foreign player quota with the signing of South American striking duo Bernardo Cuesta and Ricardo Bueno from FBC Melgar and Centro Sportivo Alagoano respectively.
We will have to see whether Jung Jae-yong will help Buriram United win back their Thai League crown after narrowly losing their title to Chiangrai United due to head to head records after finishing the season level on points.
