Samut Prakan City FC have announced the signing of Ernesto Phumipha from Muangthong United. The Thai-Spanish left back only joined Muangthong in July, however Ernesto failed to establish himself in the starting line up, only managing six appearances.
After a successful 2019 season where Samut Prakan City FC succeeded all expectations as they were initially relegation favourites but managed to finish in 6th position after hanging with the best teams in the Thai League for most of the season.
This season has seen a change in management with incoming Japanese manger Masatada Ishii succeeding compatriot Tetsuya Murayama. Samut Prakan have also seen a lot of players leave with the likes of Ibson Melo and Kyaw Ko Ko moving to other Thai League sides.
Ernesto Phumipha comes in as a relatively high profile player for the club, with Samut Prakan City hoping that they can build on last season’s successes.
