Buriram United have announced the signing of former Premier League striker Modibo Maïga.
The 31 year old Mali international joins from Ajman Club, who play in the UAE Pro-League. Last season he helped the club finish in 8th, scoring 10 goals in 19 appearances.
Modibo Maïga’s spent three years playing for West Ham in the Premier League between 2012 and 2015, amassing 34 appearances and 4 goals for the club. Other clubs the striker has played for in his career includes QPR, FC Sochaux and FC Metz.
Modibo Maïga comes in to help replace star striker Diogo who recently left to join Malaysian champions Johor Darul Ta’zim. Maïga’s goals will be vital for Buriram this upcoming season as they look to retain their Thai League 1 crown as well as make an impact in the 2019 AFC Champions League.
