Samut Prakan City FC have announced the signing of former Buriram United striker Pedro Júnior. The Brazilian had spent the the beginning of last season at Buriram, joining from Brazilian side Fortaleza Esporte Clube.
Pedro Júnior would go on to make 15 league appearances scoring 6 goals and putting in some impressive performances. However the 32 year old was let go, to make room more high profile signings in Nacer Barazite and Rasmus Jönsson. Both of which failed to make the same kind of impact that Pedro Júnior showed for Buriram at the start of the season.
Pedro Júnior would go on to spend the rest of the year at UAE First division side Khor Fakkan Club, helping them get promoted.
The signing of Pedro Júnior appears to be an astute move for Samut Prakan City FC. The club appears to be very selective in their signings, particularly of international players with only defender Aris Zarifović on the books. Pedro Júnior will add work rate and flair in the forward position, appearing to fit the high work rate and ethos of the team.
