The 30 year old had a successful season with Samut Prakan helping them them finish in surprising 6th place. Ibson Melo managed to score 15 goals in 25 games, a very respectable tally as Samut Prakan became the league’s surprise package, as many fans had written them off for relegation.
As many of the bigger teams in Thailand were reported to be keeping tabs on Ibson Melo, the signing appears to be a real coup for the club. So far Sukhothai FC have had a very impressive transfer window signing the likes of Cambodian international Thierry Bin from Malaysian side Terengganu FC, Brazilian forward Evandro Paulista from China, and defender Nukoolkit Krutyai from Muangthong United.
