Buriram United and Suphanburi FC played out a goalless draw at the Suphan Buri Provincial Stadium as the Thai League starts it’s second week. The game was a drab affair with very few chances for both sides.
The first half saw Buriram dominate possession and chances created. Brazilian Pedro Júnior squander a number of half chances during the first 45 minutes of the game. The best chance for Suphanburi FC to open the scoring came in the 37th minute when Jonatan Reis burst into the box taking the ball past two defenders only to see his lifted footed effort go well wide of the goal.
Moments later in the 39th minute, Buriram’s most impressive player, Supachok Sarachat saw his half volley from inside the box bounce off the bar. The 20-year old attacking midfielder was inches from scoring his third goal of the season after netting 2 goals previously against Chonburi FC in week 1.
The second half saw minimal efforts at goal. Buriram were struggling to create clear cut opportunities while Suphanburi were comfortable in this game without ever really create chances of their own. Pedro Júnior seems to be extremely wasteful infant of goal while star signing Modibo Maïga looks to be struggling to get into goal scoring positions.
Both these sides to two points, with Buriram United having drawn with Chonburi FC last week while Suphanburi FC earning their second successive 0-0 draw.
