The first half was dominated by Buriram as they created a multiple of chances which kept Prachuap’s keeper Nattapong Khajohnmalee busy throughout. The most notable of these chances came just seconds before half time. Buriram United won a corner on the right hand side and proceeded to crowd the six yard box with their players. Sasalak Haiprakhon swung in a corner for Buriram which looped over everyones heads. Due to the overcrowding of the six yard box keeper Nattapong Khajohnmalee was unable to collect. The ball was heading into the far post of the goal. Luckily for Prachuap FC, they had left back Adun Muensamaan standing on the goal line who was able to head the ball off the line.
Buriram United increased the pressure on the Prachuap defence in the second half and were eventually able to break through in the 73rd minute. Sasalak Haiprakhon swung in an in swinging corner which was met by Buriram defender Pansa Hemviboon who headed the ball towards goal. The ball was blocked on the line by Saranyu Intarach, however fell to ex-Premier League striker Modibo Maïga who was able to tap in his first goal of the season.
In the 81st minute Buriram United doubled their lead with a well worked free kick. Being approximately 40 years out from goal it looked like Ratthanakorn Maikami was going to play a long ball into the box. However the youngster played a reverse pass to Supachok Sarachat who was standing alone in the box. The 20 year old midfielder was able to run at Amorn Thammanarm gaining a yard and scoring past keeper Nattapong Khajohnmalee at the near post.
This was a good result for Buriram United as they have had a slow start to the season not winning any of their first two league games. While Prachuap FC were on a good run winning their first two league games including a 1-0 win over Muangthong United. Questions were asked about how Buriram United would cope without last seasons top scorer Diogo, with big name signing Modibo Maïga expected to make an impact. However so far it has been Thai youngster Supachok Sarachat who has really impressed with his performances and goals.
